Hi Tracy,
I think your advice is great. The biggest stress for me this year is who to spend the holidays with… especially since this is the first Christmas as a married couple!
This year, my wife and I tried something different. Since we gave gifts to many of our family members after the wedding, we didn’t want to just send more stuff or junk that people didn’t need. We decided to donate to charities and ministries on behalf of our loved ones. That way we could do good in the world while, at the same time, giving a gift.
What a great thought Matt – thanks for sharing that idea. Many are so caught up in the ‘commercialism’ of the Holiday that they forget its about giving and your idea of donations to worthy causes is a great way to give and give.
