Focus on the Log (Goal)
Posted by: | CommentsSo many of can use some help with our focus. Our life’s and our minds are so busy with numerous little distractions that we lose our focus on the main objective or goal. Also, society and technology is not helping us keep our focus – I mean have you seen the commercial for the satellite cable service that will enable you to watch six to nine games at the SAME TIME. WOW, talk about spreading your focus around. Our world is becoming much like that television service – spreading your focus so thin that some of the ‘facts’ are evading your attention. Problem is, some of these facts can and often will make or break your success or at least how fast you can attain it. So as you can see, focus is an important ingredient to your recipe for success.
When I was in basic training for the US Army we frequently had to run the obstacle course or as we called it the “O” course. This was a trail running through the beautiful woods of South Carolina populated with various crawling, climbing, jumping and dodging obstacles. Your task was to run the “O” course in a set time frame or less. One of the obstacles was a ‘log walk.’ Simply put there would be telephone pole sized log lying on the ground and you would need to walk across the top. Simple right? Yes! But here is what I found interesting. As long as the log was on the ground or at least low to the ground – the runners focus was on the log and they traversed it easily. However, once you raised the log up 5 or more feet into the air – their focus went from walking across the log to the risk of falling. Guess what? Yep, you guessed allegra order prescription it – many of them fell, because they took their focus off the main goal (walking across the log) and instead focused on the risk (falling).
The point I want to make sure you walk away with today is Focus is very important! Most of us have a tendency to lose our focus in life, business or relationships because we take our eye of the main goal and focus on the all the negatives possibilities. Basically we stop focusing on our goal’s log and instead focus on the worries and fears of the fall.
When you focus on what you want and how you can attain it, it will start to come into your life! When you stay focused on what you want as it starts to come into your life, it will starting coming faster. When you focus on being a happy and motivated person, guess what? Yep, that’s right – you will become a happier and more motivated person!

Motivated Lies to Reach the Truth
Posted by: | CommentsI remember an exercise I did in Toastmasters years ago to practice my selling skills. allegra non prescription The goal was to promote a product and its benefits to the audience, to motivate them to want to purchase or at least recommend the product to their friends. The product I decided to motivate my audience to buy (or buy into) was ME! So my goal was to make them want me. (OK, insert your giggle here)
My goal was to create a motivated presentation filled with intentional exaggerations, or pictures of the man it was my goal to eventually become both as a person and as a professional. But here is what I really found interesting about the project and the motivational message I want you to walk away from this post with. As I wrote the speech I found myself getting motivated by the speech as I wrote it. Then I found myself becoming even more motivated by the speech as I practiced it. So, guess what happened when I finally delivered this presentation to my audience. Yep you guessed it, I became even MORE motivated by its content as I shared it with my audience. Now, with me being so motivated by the content I was delivering do you think I gave a better presentation to my audience? You bet I did!
Most of us find it difficult to see the truth of who we could become over the course of our life. This difficulty is reinforced by so many things in our society. Sometime it is even reinforced by those close to us. How many times have you heard someone who cares for you say “You will never be able to….” Well for me it was a lot – but as I wrote that speech I inserted stories outlining what my future self had done to become the person I was selling to my audience. So I was creating a lie to reach the truth. The truth is I could become the person I was pitching (and have since I gave that speech 7+ years ago). But until I sat down and penned out this lie or fantasy I could not really “see” it.
You see, your subconscious mind does not know the difference between what you imagine or fantasize verses what has or is actually happening. If you vividly picture yourself getting that promotion, eating the tasty cake, or crossing the finish line first – your body will reach to that picture, literally. Think about it for a moment, have you ever thought about the smell or the taste of a ripe freshly picked lemon? Did you pause to imagine the smell that would waft up to your nose the moment you began to peel it, then the sprinkles of juice that would shoot around as you split the peel lemon apart. Finally that tart yet sweet flavor that would fill your mouth the moment it touched your tongue followed by the explosion of flavor that would fill your mouth as you bit into that sweet, juicy ripe lemon?
If you paused to let you mind go as you read that last paragraph I bet your mouth begin to generate a little extra saliva as you created the pictures in your mind via my words. You see your subconscious did not know you were just reading it. Rather it was reacting to the stimuli generated by your reading it. So use this to your advantage, by creating motivating lies or fantasies of the person you want to or need to become in order to reach your goals.
The research I have done on this panned out so well that it became the basis for my eBook “Write Your Success Story” – which by the way will be launched into a full video coaching course this weekend. So sit down and think up some motivating stories about who you would be motivated to become, the things you would like to do and the goals you would like to reach. As you do that you will find that these stories will create a map (or as I call it a Success Atlas) for reaching your goals and that map will stir the motivation within you to take the 1st step towards their accomplishment. After all, if you cannot and do not picture yourself in high regard, then you will never live or hold yourself in high regard. Like they say “Fake it, until you make it!” This would be one the time I would say it is ok to create a motivated lie in order to reach the truth!

Consideration – Reaching Your Friends Clients and Employees
Posted by: | CommentsConsider this, one of the most important of motivators in a relationship, whether personal or professional, at work with your client/customers or at home with friends and family, is consideration. Employees report that the best friends and managers they ever had were people who considered their thoughts, cared about their feeling and about them as people as well as friends. These friends and managers were considerate enough to take the time to ask them questions about their lives, and to listen patiently while they talked.
The flip side of this consideration motivator is the demotivating feeling that the boss is inconsiderate and/or doesn’t 10 mg abilify care. This is almost invariably expressed in a lack of recognition, a lack of appreciation and a general failure to pay attention to the employee over time.
Consider this, the amount of time that you spend talking to and listening to a friend, family member, employee (or even a client) is a signal to that person that he or she is considered important to you, to the family and/or to the company.
To empower and motivate your customers, your suppliers, your friends and so on, you simply need to be a genuine, considerate, positive and cheerful person. Develop a positive thoughtful attitude. Insure that you are easygoing, friendly, patient, and open minded.
Remember, everyone is primarily emotional. Everything that people do, or refrain from doing, is triggered by their deeper emotions. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to consider and connect with their higher and more positive emotions so they feel so good about you.
Here are two things you can to work these ideas into Your Success At Last:
- First, get out of your house or office and go mingle with your clients, coworkers, friends & family. Ask them about their personal lives and concerns, and then listen considerately to the answer. You might be amazed at what you hear!
- Second, resolve to be a genuinely positive & thoughtful person under all circumstances. Be the kind of person people feel happy being around and working with.

Expect to Succeed
Posted by: | CommentsOne thing in life is almost guaranteed, if you plan to succeed and prepare carefully then and only then can you expect to have success in your efforts. Your planning and preparation will allow you to reach deep inside and pull out all the successful winning qualities that you were born with. Once you recognize that you have these qualities you can begin to develop them, allowing the winner within you to emerge. Regardless of the goal cheap acomplia online set whether it is earning more money, saving for a new home, getting that promotion, losing weight, or furthering your education you CAN expect to successfully achieve the goal if you lay out your goal intelligently, then plan and prepare for it thoroughly. For example, when you plan and prepare to complete a project successfully, then and only then, you can justifiably expect to complete the project. Mind you, not each and every one of your expectations will come to pass, as you would like them too. But by having a positive attitude towards your goals combined with your planning and preparation you give yourself an infinitely better chance of successfully completing your goals as you have envisioned them.
Now just because you have planned thoroughly and prepared exhaustively does not mean that the path from where you are today to where you want to be in your tomorrows will be a smooth one. In all likelihood it will be bumpy, full of twists and riddled with quick perilous turns. Know that none of this has anything to do with you personally or how much you prepared. It has far more to do with the fact that no one else is as interested in your success as you are. There will be those along your path that either accidentally or through conscious and malicious undertakings will hinder your efforts to reach your goals. You can reduce the accidental hindrances by working closely and keeping in constant communication with those that you need assistance from. As for the malicious, remember there will always be those out there in competition with you that have little or no integrity. Keep your head held high, work through the problems with dignity and the expectation that you will succeed and you will come out on top in the end and with a level on honor unmatched by those that would take the low road.
Always keep your character and dignity held in the highest regard as you hit your roadblocks. Your attitude, character and commitment to your goals will be the deciding factor on whether you successfully prevail over them or not. When the roadblock presents itself, go back to the basics: Review your plan of action, modify it to go over, through or around the roadblock. If you are unable to conceive a method to overcome the obstacle then seek advice from a trusted source. And as always constantly fill your mind with good information through books, CDs, MP3s, seminars etc. If your mind is filled with positive, optimistic thoughts and ideas you will be far more likely to come up with the creative solution you are looking for.

I Believe You Have An Attitude
Posted by: | CommentsI am writing this today to remind you successful people that the human race is the only species that comes into this world in a natural state of discontent with that world. Look around – the other creatures you see about you are guided by instinct alone. We however have been given a God-like power to shape our life and thus our destiny. Moreover, this is just what we do each day of our lives, as we put into play actions & ideas that will determine the state and significance of our tomorrows.
For some, these ideas lead to extraordinary achievement. But for most, it leads to a middle ground where they mull around taking their life’s cues from those around them – not questioning why or how – nor considering the consequences of their actions be they good or bad. For still others, their actions & ides lead to recurring disappointment and problems. This leaves these folks to spend their days at the bottom of the socioeconomic PYRAMID.
You see the ignorant would have you believe achievement or failure is a matter of luck, or circumstances, or fate, or the breaks, or any of the old tiresome wife’s tales. Let that be the excuse for the ignorant I say. Success is simple matter of following a commonsense standard of rules or guidelines that anyone can follow.
I think we would all agree that we all want good results from our lives. Be it in our home life, our career or in our friendships – and the most important single factor to that success – the one factor that will guarantee good results day and day out is our attitude! And, I believe you have an attitude.
Attitude is defined as “a position or bearing as indicating action, feeling or mood.” I can think of no truer definition of attitude for it is your actions, feelings, and moods, which determine the actions, feelings, and moods of those around you
The world is a stage is what many say. Perhaps that is true – but I feel more strongly that the world is a mirror – often a cruel mirror that reflects back to us the actions, feels, and moods that we carry around. Our attitude tells the world what we expect of it. If our attitude is cheerful and hopeful, then, it conveys to all that we expect the best in our dealings with our world. If it is a skeptical, pessimistic one then we will convey that as well. Moreover, we will receive that in return because of two reasons:
- Each of us tend to live up to the attitude you carry around
- Others give us, as far as their attitudes are concerned, what we expect.
The good news is we can control our attitude. We can put in place the attitude of our choice each morning. Actually, we do so whether we are aware of it or not. Unfortunately, most do not look at their attitudes in this way. Thus, they start their day off in neutral, poised and ready to react to the first stimuli that they encounter. If the first stimulus is positive then their attitude follows suit. If it is negative then they mimic that instead. They are attitudinal chameleons. We as successful people have to prevent ourselves from becoming an attitudinal chameleon.
Here are three ways you can attain, Propecia Online and maintain, a healthy attitude (and avoid becoming an attitudinal chameleon):
- Physiology
- Focus
- The Platinum Rule
- PHYSIOLOGY - Try a little exercise with me. Stand up and breathe deeply inhaling and exhaling fully. Then look up at the ceiling and smile, smile like an idiot or a child on Christmas morning. Now while still breathing deeply, looking up and smiling – get mad – go on get angry! You cannot do it. If you maintain the body posture I described you will be unable to get angry. How you carry your body affects your attitude – have a seat. Now am I saying walk around with your head held high, breathing deeply and grinning like an idiot? Sure why not it is far more attractive then a frown backed by slumped shoulders! But, seriously, walking around with your head low, your face long with a frown, and your breathing shallow will negatively affect your attitude. That is how physiology influences your attitude; use it to your advantage.
- FOCUS - During the course of your day your attitude can and will be impacted by the questions you ask yourself. If you ask the questions like “Why do I get the projects nobody wants?” Then your attitude will go downhill – quickly. If however you ask empowering questions, “How can I complete this project and enjoy the process?” Then your focus is changed and your attitude will be healthier for it. To avoid becoming an attitudinal chameleon what you need to do is develop some morning questions for yourself. A set of questions that will focus your mind on things YOU want to focus on. Some examples could be
- “What can I do today to build/strengthen my career?”
- “What am I proud of in my life?”
- “What am I confidant I can do?”
- “What can I do for my spouse/child/significant other to let them
know I care?Develop your own set of morning questions and answer them each morning. This will do wonders for your attitude as well as raise your awareness to things around you that will lend themselves to aid you in completing your goals.
- THE PLATNIUM RULE - We all know the golden rule and are well served to apply it. However, a person that wants to maintain his healthy attitude at its peak and become a moniker of success will apply the platinum rule. The platinum rule states “Do unto others as THEY want done unto them.”You see how you want to be treated is not specifically how everyone wants to be treated is it? If you go out with the servant’s attitude that your going to treat others in the manner THEY wish to be treated, then this will be reflected back to you – tenfold!
Remember – successful people come in all shapes and sizes, creeds, colors and backgrounds. However even in this diverse pool, they all have one thing in common – they expect more good out of life than bad. This positive expectation is reflected in their healthy attitude. So, in all the things you want, in all the goals you have set yourself upon, let your attitude reflect the fact that there are far more reasons why can have them, then not. Know there are far more reasons why you can reach your goals, then there are reasons to cause you to fail in the attempt.
Use your physiology, maintain your focus, and apply the platinum rule to attain and maintain your healthy attitude (and avoid becoming an attitudinal chameleon).
I believe you have an attitude!! However, is it the one you want?
