5 Tips to Focus on You and Get More Out of Life
Posted by: | CommentsDo you ever feel like something is missing in your life? Even if you are getting much of what you want sometimes you just get that “is this all there is feeling?” Learning to focus on you, instead of others 100% of the time may be the key you’ve been seeking!
How much time do you spend comparing yourself to others? Often when you focus on comparing yourself to others you end up coming up short. It is time to stop that destructive habit. These types of Comparisons get you nowhere. They lead to pain and discontent rather than to positive improvements.
A better choice is to focus on your own personal needs, wants, dreams and desires. After all, you are a unique individual. You deserve the personal approach of focusing on your AS a unique individual! This personal approach and focus will boost your self-image because you are focused on improving yourself and not trying to beat someone else in some uncharted race. As I have said for years: There are two ways to be the tallest building in the skyline. 1) Build yourself higher or 2) Tear down all the other buildings.
Learning to focus on you rather than everyone else around you can be a difficult task. Especially if you are the giving type of person that usually finds their way to blogs like this. Too often, we are focused on our work, families and friends that we do not even know how to begin the process of focusing on our own choices and decisions that determine and even improve the inner quality and joy of our lives.
Here are five tips to help you focus on fully enjoying your life:
- Devote time everyday “me time.” This could be fifteen minutes or an hour, but during this time, focus completely on yourself and the things you need desire and deserve to feel strong, loved and important. Reflect on what is important to you. Dream your big dreams and figure out small steps you can take to achieve them.
- “Me-Time” can be anything YOU like it to be: go for a talk, take a relaxing bubble bath, take a nap, get a manicure, read a novel, or do something else. As long as it is something that brings you pleasure simply for the sake of pleasure it qualifies as me-time.
- “Me-Time” can be anything YOU like it to be: go for a talk, take a relaxing bubble bath, take a nap, get a manicure, read a novel, or do something else. As long as it is something that brings you pleasure simply for the sake of pleasure it qualifies as me-time.
- Take care of your own physical, spiritual and health needs. Relying on someone else to meet your needs only leads to dependence and often even resentment. Do not wait for someone else to do these caring tasks for you – care for yourself. You have the power within you to meet your own needs.
- Please let me clarify here that I know some of my readers have limitations (physical or otherwise) that impact their personal care –I understand and even empathize with that. But what you do not want is to use that as a crutch for not doing what you are capable of doing to care for inner being as well as their outer body.
- Feed you mind and body good healthy fuels. You cannot expect your mind and body to function at their best if you don’t provide them with the fuels they need to work at full capacity.
- Feed your body good foods: fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Drink plenty of water to keep your body fully hydrated.
- Feed your mind by reading informative, well-written books, blogs, and magazines. Choose recreational reading that builds your mind and spirit.
- Limit your TV watching and spend your time pursuing things that stimulate your thinking.
- Play board games, listen to music designed to stimulate your brain waves with binary beats.
- Spend time each day doing something you love. We all have some ‘hobby’ we are passionate about. No matter what that hobby for you, it is healthy to indulge in a creative pastime.
- Banzai tree shaping, gardening, painting, woodcarving and pottery are all hobbies that encourage your creativity while you use your hands to create something beautiful. What creative hobby do you enjoy? Be sure you spend time enjoying it!
- Start a gratitude journal. Start every day and end every day by listing five unique things you are grateful for in your life. After a very short period of time buy cheap Ortho Tri-Cyclen online you will find that you are spending more of your time focusing on all the good things you have in your world rather than any negative obstacles you might face. (Think that might make facing those obstacles a little easier? YOU BET IT WILL!)
Focusing on you helps you take the best possible care of yourself. It allows you to replenish your batteries and regain your strength so you can be fully present and engaged in the rest of your day. Going into your days with this extra strength and charge enables you to give more to those you want to give to. Now that is a win-win situation all the way around.

Penta’tude – the five ‘tudes of your success
Posted by: | CommentsIn 1941 Major General Hugh ‘Pat’ Casey designed the Pentagon in only three days. Construction began thirty days later and sixteen months after that on January 15, 1943 this now world famous office building was completed. The Pentagon is the headquarters for the United States Department of Defense and the nerve center for command and control dedicated to protecting the US national interests. You have your own Pentagon of sorts within yourself. This Pentagon, or Penta’tude as I have come to call it, has direct impact on your protection, growth and success and is made up of these five ‘tudes: Multitude, Magnitude, Latitude, Attitude and Gratitude.
Let’s take a look at each of these supporting walls to your own personal Penta’tude.
- Multitude
As we go through our daily lives a multitude of opportunities present themselves. However, a multitude of challenges also come along for the ride. If you spend you time fretting about the challenges you will end up blotting out those opportunities. To give you an example of what I’m talking about – take a dime and look buy cheap Orgasm Enhancer online at it at arms length. Small, thin not to ominous. But if you put all your focus on it and bring it in close to your eye then it will blot out the world as you see it. Worse yet the closer it gets the more you loose focus and the more the edges blur. Now you don’t really know where the challenge ends and the opportunities begin. Focusing on opportunities instead of challenges increases your chances at success, not to mention increasing the level of success you can and will attain.
- Magnitude
This works closely with Multitude. As you go through your opportunities and challenges in life and business, you need to magnify the important things. Focus on the magnitude and impact of your core values, desires and major definite purpose. Reduce the magnitude of challenges that seem insurmountable. “Don’t make mountains out of molehills” apply strategic thinking and brainstorming techniques to breakdown those seemingly impassable obstacles. On the other side of this coin, do not let one major win in your success make you think your set for life. Every good businessperson knows that if your not growing your business then it is dieing. Because if your sitting still while everyone else is moving forward then respectively your are falling behind. Enjoy that major success; bask in the glow and pride it gives you. Then sit down and plan for the next big win.
- Latitude
This is your permission to dream! You have the latitude to be all you can be, to accomplish any task that you desire as long as it is within the bounds of human decency and the letter of the law. This is a liberating freedom that is given only to humankind. We are the only creature on this great planet (that I am aware of) that has this ability to create it’s own destiny and then to fulfill it. Regardless of your color, creed, religion, upbringing, or circumstances you can, if you decide to and take the necessary action, move from where you are right now to where you have always wanted to be.
This is the starting point of your success journey. Whether you call it your disposition, manner, temperament, spirit, approach, position, posture, outlook or opinion your attitude has a major bearing on your level of success.
Attitude is defined as:
- Personal view of something: an opinion or general feeling about something
- a positive attitude to change
- Bodily posture: a physical posture, either conscious or unconscious, especially while interacting with others
Your attitude, feelings, or moods will infect or effect the actions, moods, and feelings of those around you. If you face the world with a cheerful expectant attitude, the world (and those in it) will know you expect more from it and will perform accordingly. If you face the world with a negative, down trodden attitude it will know you expect poor action from it and will give you those actions. Remember that the world will reflect your attitude back to you. Your attitude to the world will determine its attitude towards you (cause and affect). So one of the main rules to a successful life is to know that the world is a mirror, often a merciless mirror, of our selves and the habitual attitude we carry within us.
I saved the best for last. As always the grandest rules are the simplest, like “Do unto other as you would have done unto you.” The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more you have to express gratitude for. You will never find a happy person who isn’t a grateful person, so gratitude is a marvelous place to start. Expressing gratitude for what you have versus whining about that which you are lacking keeps you focused on the positive. Remaining on this positive side positively impacts the four other walls of your success Penta’tude. As we all teach our children, the magic word is “Thank you!” You are a wondrous breathing, thinking, creating self-actualizing creature, take time to sit and ponder all the wonders that are already in your life, and how you can build upon them.
Use these five key walls of your Penta’tude to build and secure your growth and success in both you personal and professional life. Sit down now and review your current walls. If you find any holes or weakened sections of your Penta’tude, give them all your focus. Making this Penta’tude a part of who you are will do wonders for moving you towards your desires, dreams and major definite purpose.

10 Top Inspirational Quotes
Posted by: | CommentsHave you ever read something, whether in a book, on a billboard, on your screen or in a card and felt words shake you to the core? Or perhaps the words reached out to tug at your heartstrings?
Inspirational quotes can instill you with the motivation to take action toward your dreams, desires & goals to live the life you desire and deserve.
I use inspirational quotes on a daily basis. I get up and read from one of a collection of books I have acquired over the year; “Something to Smile About” by Zig Ziglar, “Success – Defining Moments” from Success Magazine, “Seeds of Greatness Treasury” by Denis Waitley, “Treasury of Quotes” by Brian Tracy and other. You can use these and other sources of inspirational quotes to help you get fired up in the morning face your boss (or your employees) during a meeting, they can even help you find the motivation to get physically active.
The supply of inspirational quotes is nearly endless. There are plenty of awe-inspiring quotes you can call upon whenever you are in need of a perk-me-up. The really cool part is that the more often you read, use and share motivational quotes, the quicker they become a part of who you are and thus the more likely they will be to help you break through mental and emotional barriers that hold you hostage.
I would suggest that you internalize those sayings that you resonate with, so you can call upon them whenever you need a boost.
Here are ten inspirational quotes to spark your passion and bring you motivation:

So that is why I say – find the quotes that YOU resonate with and memorize them. You do not have to use my list – they are but ideas to get you started. My list may be different than yours as much as I am different from you, but the key is for you to get a list and always be adding to it as you grow.

5 Ways to Be Assertive and Say "No"
Posted by: | CommentsAre you one of the many that finds it difficult to be assertive and say “no” to people’s requests? Let us be honest, there just aren’t enough hours in the day to appease EVERYONE, so, the art of saying “no” without hurting the feelings of others becomes a very important skill to acquire.
Just because you need to say “no” doesn’t mean you have to be rude about it. Trust me, there are plenty of assertive, yet polite, ways by which you can tell people “no” when the need arises.
Here are some ways you can say “no” without being rude or impolite:
- “No” to now, but “yes” to later. “I’m very busy at the moment. Perhaps someone else can help you. If not, I’ll have time later in the week to help you out.” This is a great way to say “no.” It’s assertive, but also positive and kind. You let the person know there’s no way you can do what they are asking at the moment. However, you give them the option to ask someone else or wait until you have the time to help out. If possible, I would even suggest who that other person might be – as long as you believe they could actually help.
- “No” unless something changes. “I’m very flattered that you have asked me. But, I am not currently in a position where I can that on. Perhaps we could talk about it another time in case circumstances change” This statement says “no” while still being very polite. You let them know how thrilled you are that they have asked you, but then you are honest about how little time you have to commit to their request. You have also left the ball back in their court on getting back to you another time, rather then taking it on to get back to them.
- A definitive “No.” “I am sorry to disappoint you, but I am not able to. I am afraid that I will overextend myself.” This answer while still being very kind and polite enables them to understand where you are coming from.
Here, you express regret for having to disappoint them, yet you still let them know that this is a solid “no.” Undoubtedly, they will understand you do not want to overextend yourself, which makes them sympathetic to your plight as well. - “No” to attend an event. “I had a great time before, but I won’t be able to make it this time I already have something planned.”
At times you may get asked to an event you do not have time to attend or you honestly do not want to attend. Do not feel you are obligated to go. This statement lets the person know you have had a great time in the past, yet you are already scheduled for something else or busy this time around. - “No” to loaning money. “I really wish I could but I make it my practice not to loan money to friends and family.” You let them know that you wish you could loan them the money, yet you go on to explain why you will not do so. Making it clear that this is the practice you have for everyone, and you are not just saying “no” to them personally.
Money is often the one thing that many people ask for from their friends and family. It is a difficult situation and you walk a fine line to avoid insulting them or hurting their feelings. This statement is a nice way to be assertive and say “no” while still being kind.
For some reason, parents (and I speak from experience) all too often feel the need to always say “yes.” Whether to helping in your child’s classroom, working at a PTA function, or going to yet another classmate’s birthday party, you may feel like these are things you must fit into your already busy schedule. Avoid that must feeling.
Remember, buy cheap Ophthacare online you can take control of your family’s calendar – and your sanity – by saying “no” to some offers that come your way. Saying “no” in a pleasant tone of voice will not lose you any friends; but it will allow you to set boundaries so you can enjoy life rather than racing through it.

Building Character and Strengthening Relationships by Opening Up
Posted by: | CommentsOver the course of my 4 plus decades on this lovely planet I have learned something very special when it comes to relationships. My relationships give me strength and by sharing my thoughts and feelings with others, I build character. So the lesson is quite simply: I am able to build both character and strength via my relationships.
Do not get me wrong, there have been times when I was too scared to allow others to see the true me. I protected my hidden passions, my unconventional thoughts, my deeply held values and parts of my belief system; all because I was worried that I might not be accepted. There were even times I shelved some of my core values as a result of these fears? Have you?
Luckily, I came to understand that this fear is normal, and I bravely moved past being overly concerned about what everyone else thought. This has enabled me to truly experience, and enjoy who I was – so, I could grow into who I am. But more importantly, I buy cheap Olanzapine online have come to learn that the real reward was my increased ability to more intimately experience and enjoy all those that I formed and form relationships with.
Trusting in other people means that you will have share yourself with them. Not just the good stuff, you will have to reveal some of your faults and your foibles as well. Revealing the chinks in your armor to those that you care about will allow them to more quickly do so in return. If you want to build character and strengthen your relationships, you will have to be brave for it takes courage to honestly invite others into your life.
- Reflection Affirmation
True fulfillment comes from becoming connected to others and my inner self.
Each part of yourself that you share is like adding a new link in your relationship chain. With each new link you add you can extend yourself further to others. So I urge you to constantly build that chain.
When others are in need, they know that I am there to help. Because I have extended a strong chain, they have come to know that they can reach out and grasp it. This is how I have built strong relationships in my life. You can do the same thing, each and every day. By sharing more of you, you invite others to open themselves up. You will feel more connected to the people in your life because you will come to see who they truly are. There in lies life’s truer reward: To feel bonded to good people.
Work hard to create fulfilling personal relationships. Extending yourself to others is worthwhile. You will deepen your character and strengthen your relationships by simply and bravely opening up to the people in your life.
Ask Yourself These Self-Reflection Questions:
- Do I bravely reveal my true self with others?
- How can I strengthen relationships with the people in my life?
- What do I love most about the close personal relationships I already have?
